Since Alana Smith stormed onto the X Games scene with a Women’s Park silver medal at Barcelona 2013, she’s made it clear that she’s a force to be reckoned with. Alana is among a select group of skateboarders who push limits regardless of the terrain (or gender). Her transition skills are impressive and sometimes overshadow her considerable street prowess.

She can throw McTwists on the vert ramp and has even hit the MegaRamp. “It’s like a crazy feeling knowing I’m (one of only a few girls) doing mega,” says Smith. “It would be fun if there were more girls skating with me. It’d be awesome.”

Alana’s style has developed into an aggressive, yet stylish, skater that can handle whatever obstacle is thrown at her. She was also the first, and currently only, woman to do a backflip on a skateboard. With women’s skateboarding now in the Olympics, Alana is making a strong push to show the world what she can do and bring a medal home for the USA.
