Meet Tia Pearl, a passionate Midwestern street skater born and raised in Illinois, who has been deeply devoted to skateboarding for nearly two decades. While she wasn’t always an adaptive skater, a life-changing nerve injury at the age of 22 transformed her journey. Despite the challenges, her love for skateboarding remained unwavering, leading her to grow and thrive in one of the most free-spirited sports.

A decade ago, Tia faced a turning point after a hernia repair, contemplating giving up on skateboarding altogether. However, her life took a remarkable turn in 2016 when she discovered WCMX. Rapidly advancing in this new sport breathed life back into her spirit and reignited her passion for skateboarding. In 2019, she fearlessly embraced crutch skating, embarking on an exhilarating journey that she hasn’t looked back from since.

Tia Pearl’s accomplishments are nothing short of inspiring. As the world’s first female crutch skater, she has achieved back-to-back gold medals in the adaptive women’s division at Dew Tour, captivating audiences with her impressive technical tricks. Her unique blend of old school style and Midwestern street skating roots shines through in her adaptive skateboarding, setting her apart in the skateboarding community.

Her philosophy centers on learning from every experience, believing that each encounter, regardless of the outcome, contributes to personal growth and success. Tia’s unwavering determination and positive attitude inspire others to overcome obstacles and pursue their passions relentlessly.
